World Half Marathon Championships, Cardiff, Sat 26th March 2016
The IAAF/Cardiff University World Half Marathon Championships will be taking place in Cardiff on Saturday 26th March 2016.
Set to be one of the most enthralling UK endurance events of recent years, the marathon gives people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to run alongside some of the world's best athletes, and the chance to win their own world championship medal.
The event is sure to be extremely busy, with plenty of excitement and entertainment on offer for both participants and spectators alike.

Cardiff Bus
The following Cardiff Bus changes will apply to bus stops and routes in Cardiff and Penarth.
Services 1 & 2
From 12:30 until 15:15 services 1 and 2 will operate between Canton and Canal Street in the city centre, not serving Grangetown and Cardiff Bay.
Additionally, between 12:30 and 19:00 these services will divert via Colchester Avenue, Penylan Hill, Llanedeyrn Road and Eastern Avenue between Tremorfa and the UHW Heath Hospital, not serving Waterloo Road, Albany Road, Crwys Road, Whitchurch Road and Allensbank Road.

Baycar (service 6)
From 06:00 on Monday 21 until 23:00 on Tuesday 29 March, the baycar will not serve Cathays Park due to road closures. Buses will divert via Park Place and Corbett Road, not serving National Museum Cardiff, Welsh Government Buildings or the Law Courts.
Saturday 26 March
City centre diversions - from the first bus until 17:40 buses will start and end in Customhouse Street.
Cardiff Bay diversions – from 12:15 until 16:25 buses will start and end in County Hall, not serving Porth Teigr or the Wales Millennium Centre.

Service 7 will continue to start and end in Canal Street, but journeys towards Cardiff Bay will divert via Dumballs Road until 16:15. Journeys towards the city centre will not be affected.

Service 8 & 9
Buses will start and end in Canal Street from first bus until 17:15 and will not serve Dumfries Place, Greyfriars Road, Kingsway and Westgate Street. These buses will not continue as service 11 between 12:30 -17:15.

Service 11
From first bus until 12:25, buses will travel via Station Terrace, lower Churchill Way and Bute Terrace to Canal Street, where service 11 will end.
From 12:25 until 17:15 service 11 will start and end in Newport Road/East Grove and will not continue as services 8 or 9.

From 12:30 until 17:15 this service will split in the city centre.
To Drope
From 12:30 until 15:15 buses will start and end in Canton (near Home Bargains)
To Cyncoed
12:30-17:15 buses will start and end in Newport Road/East Grove. Additionally, between 12:30 and 18:45 buses to/from Cyncoed wil divert via Penylan Road, Colchester Avenue, Waterloo Road and Newport Road. Buses will not service Richmond Road, Albany Road, Ninian Road, Lake Road East and Celyn Avenue.

From the first bus until 12:30 buses will start and end in Greyfriars Road. Between 12:30 and 19:15 buses will divert via Gabalfa Interchange and North Road in both directions, not serving Whitchurch Road or Cathays Terrace.

From 12:30 until 17:15, service 51 will start in Newport Road/East Grove & will end in Greyfriars Road, and service 53 will start in Greyfriars Road and end in Newport Road/East Grove. Buses will divert via Newport Road and Waterloo Road in both directions, not serving Roath. Additionally, journeys between the city centre and Heath Hospital will divert via Gabalfa Interchange and North Road in both directions, not serving Cathays.

Between 12:30 and 15:45 buses will divert via The Cowslip, Llandough, Leckwith, A4232 Link Road, Ferry Road, Clive Street, North Clive Street and Cornwall Street in both directions. Buses will not serve Cogan Leisure Centre, Penarth Road, Sloper Road and Virgil Street.

Between 12:30 and 15:45 buses will divert between Leckwith and the city centre. Buses will divert via the A4232 Link Road, Ferry Road, Clive Street, North Clive Street, Cornwall Street, Clare Road and Tudor Street to the city centre. Buses will not serve Leckwith Road and Ninian Park Road during this time. Additionally, buses will not continue to Heath Hospital during the closure.

New Adventure Travel Service 89A/89B (Dinas Powys / Llandough - Cardiff) will not serve Penarth Marina or Cardiff during periods of road closures for each area for the Cardiff World Half Marathon
Stagecoach Bus
ALL Stagecoach services will start and terminate at Greyfriars Road, ALL DAY.
Standard bus stops will be use as per major sporting Event Days in Greyfriars Road:
A, B, 26 stop GJ.
X3 stop GH
T4, X4, 132 Stop GN until 20:00 hrs, GJ thereafter.
Buses on Routes A, B, 26, 132, 136, X4 and TrawsCymru T4 will operate through the Cathays Park area of Cardiff north central:
- From 04:30 - 11:30 via North Road & Boulevard de Nantes.
- From 11:30 - 14:30 via North Road - Column Road - Park Place.
- From 14:30 onwards via North Road and Boulevard de Nantes.
Buses on Route 122: will run via North Rd and not serve Cathedral Rd until 17:30. After 17:30 normal route applies
122 buses will divert via Western Avenue, Gabalfa Interchange, North Road as above bullet points until 17:30
Buses on Route 124: will run via North Rd all day and not serve Cathedral Rd
124 buses will divert via Western Avenue, Gabalfa Interchange, North Road as above bullet points.
Buses on Route X3: will run via North Rd between 12:00 mid-day and 17:30 and not serve Newport Rd between bottom of Rumney Hill and the City Centre.
X3 buses in the afternoon will operate via the Eastern Inner Link Road to Gabalfa Interchange then as the bullet points applicable above.
Buses on X16: will run via North Rd after 12:00 mid-day and for the rest of the day not serve Newport Rd between bottom of Rumney Hill and the City Centre
X16 buses from mid-day will operate via the Eastern Inner Link Road to Gabalfa Interchange then as the bullet points applicable above.
